All the rest make references to Wikipedia!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>This was Perohanych&rsquo;s explanation of his position in this situation, when he took the word &ldquo;homophobe&rdquo; out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%9C%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%86%D1%96%D0%BD%D0%BA%D1%96%D0%B2_%D0%A0%D1%83%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%BD_%D0%A0%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%87\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a> about Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor. Opinions section currently is the following: &ldquo;He is the author of meme &ldquo;Can a gay be a patriot?&rdquo; &ldquo;&hellip;Can a gay be a patriot? I say no. Only a Christian can be a patriot, real patriot is that who believes in God. &hellip;We must stick to our Christian national values.&rdquo; He promised to do everything to ban abortions in Ivano-Frankivsk.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As one of the active Ukrainian Wikipedia members Leonid Nefedovych says, it seems that Mr. Perohanych created a new meme: &ldquo;How can you give a living person offensive title of &ldquo;homophobe&rdquo;?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Let&rsquo;s recall that last week the article about Martsynkiv in Wikipedia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upogau.org\/eng\/inform\/uanews\/worldnews_3739.html\" target=\"_blank\">was rewritten<\/a> and he was called a homophobe. The Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk earned this title after a series of homophobic utterances. In particular Martsynkiv <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upogau.org\/eng\/inform\/uanews\/worldnews_3718.html\" target=\"_blank\">spoke out against<\/a> abortions and same-sex marriages in our country and promised that he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upogau.org\/eng\/inform\/uanews\/worldnews_3725.html\" target=\"_blank\">wouldn&rsquo;t let street LGBT events<\/a> happen in the city. Later on the head of Ivano-Frankivsk said that a gay couldn&rsquo;t be a patriot as only a Christian could be a patriot &ndash; and became famous for a whole Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Read also:<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/upogau.org\/eng\/inform\/uanews\/worldnews_6922.html\" target=\"_blank\">A woman from Ivano-Frankivsk demands to ban gay policemen<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wikimedia Ukraine is NGO that promotes encyclopedic knowledge. Ukrainian Wikipedia is one of the main objects of its activity.<\/p>\n<p>UPD. The war of editions started on Martsynkiv&rsquo;s page after the Perohanych&rsquo;s corrections. While this news was being written somebody brought homophobe wording back but is was deleted again.
