A book “Ukrainian LGBT movement, 25” is available by post
UPO “Gay Alliance Ukraine” published a book “Ukrainian LGBT movement, 25”. Its presentation took place in the framework of the LGBT Forum "KyivPride2015". The first edition is 1000 copies and now available for ordering.
“Ukrainian LGBT movement, 25 — is a collection the memories and life stories told by different activists. The first part of the book contains interviews with people who have formed a LGBT movement in Ukraine. Olena Purik, Anna Dovbakh, Oleksandr Zinchenkov, Inna Iriskina, Anna Sharygina and Anna Dovgopol shared their stories and experience of being in activism.
The second part of the book is about gay community in general and Kyiv city gay hangout – in particular. People’s stories pass over different periods of time – from Soviet Union until nowadays and held in different places and under various conditions. In this chapter you can read about the club hangouts, travesti divas, thematic magazines, on how people could find the LGBT community and their own place in it, and much more.
In the third part of the book written by Maksym Kasianchuk and Yurii Kodenko you can read about the most significant events for the LGBT movement, as well as to learn about the statistical information regarding the LGBT community and LGBT organizations.
