Hotline for LGBT launched in Ukraine!

0 307

We are pleased to inform you that UPO “Gay Alliance Ukraine” has launched the first hotline for LGBT people in Ukraine  – 0 800 50 50 99.

Despite the existing need, even demand for such a service in our country it hasn't been available until now. Its functions were partially taken upon by the National hotline on HIV/AIDS and representative offices of our regional organizations. Now members of the LGBT community receive an opportunity to get all the information by dialing one number. The concept of the hotline can be described in two words: information support.

Hotline counselors now will provide information about the services of all LGBT organizations in Ukraine, inform on themed places of leisure in different cities, explain where it is possible to get tested on STD and HIV, as well as what to do in cases of violence and discrimination.

The component of psychological support includes a broad spectrum of topics. Acceptance of one’s sexual orientation and gender identity, correct and timely coming-out, difficulties of finding and building relationships, problems caused by homophobia in the close surrounding, parents' reaction to unexpected outing. Cut a long story short, reaching hotline you’ll be able to talk about everything you are concerned about, but have no one to talk to.

All calls are anonymous and confidential. Calls are NOT being recorded and it is only you who decides what information and to what extent you are ready to provide to the consultant.

In the nearest months the telephone hotline operates according to the following schedule: from Monday to Friday from 12.00 to 20.00. In future we hope to reach the level of 24/7 hotline.

Call us on 0 800 50 50 99 free of charge from stationary and mobile phones on the territory of Ukraine.
