The best movie of Sunny Bunny LGBT program was chosen

On October 30 the winner of the LGBT program of Molodist film festival was awarded in theMezzanine club in Kyiv. Sunny Bunny main award went to the Italian filmmaker Laura Bispuri for Sworn Virgin movie.

The movie winner has feminist message. The author addresses herself to the topic of gender equality and the status of a woman in the modern society. The main character Hana voluntarily vows celibacy and becomes Mark through assuming the role of a man. According to Albanian burnesha tradition, it is possible and the girl can have all the privileges of a man now. But in time she regrets her decision and wants to reverse change.

Additional show of Sworn Virgin took place in Kyiv cinema on November 1, at 11 p.m.

Laura Bispuri received the award statuette and USD 2000 from Sunny Bunny.

Special Sunny Bunny contest diplomas went to The Summer of Sangailė by Lithuanian director AlantéKavaïté and Kenyan Stories of Our Lives by Jim Chuchu.

Let’s recall that this year the panel of judges included Columbian-American artist Carlos Motta (his video works that studied the issue of homosexuality opposition to the social convention were presented on the Molodist festival), Swiss director, producer and scriptwriter Ivan Madeo and Ukrainian singer and writer Irena Karpa who openly supports equality of rights for LGBT.

Gay Alliance Ukraine is the partner of Sunny Bunny program.
